Yesterday I expressed my gratitude for Michelle's permission to ride near our home, which is much more convenient than packing up the bike and driving somewhere every time I ride. But I also thank her for simply allowing me to ride at all once again, as I know this has to make her uneasy, given my history. But it really is a different ballgame now, with the new cycle—and I'm doing my very best to exercise caution and conservative judgment at all times.
Today, rain was predicted for some of the day, so I decided to get the ride done early, and headed out about 8:30. I rode the sidewalk along Ellsworth west to Maple Rd., and then came back and went down to a nearby subdivision (Stonebridge) that Michelle has recommended to me, based on her own rides there, for its largely flat terrain and very scarce traffic. This all enabled me to get in a dry ride, albeit a slow one, of 8 miles in 58 minutes.
