THURSDAY MID-MORNING
Today's adventure-meter reading: MILD. Kristian pulled up right on time, and we set off to ride to Marsh Park. But before we had gotten quite a mile, he pulled up beside me while we were waiting to cross Ellsworth Rd. and pointed out to me that both front tires were in quite bad shape - a strip was worn down the middle of each where the tread was nearly wholly gone. I had been to the dealer in Dearborn to have a flat replaced three weeks ago today, and they gave me free of charge two new tires in front that were a higher quality than the ones I had, telling me that they should last considerably longer than the previous ones. But something goofy is afoot, as these new ones only lasted a little over 200 miles .
I rode on a slight way farther, but then, nervous about having a blowout several miles from home, I turned back, settling for a ride of 3.7 miles in 30 minutes (and a daily total of 14,0 miles in 1 hour and 50 minutes).
