This morning I was happy to be able to ride with my friend Kristian Frikke-Schmidt. Schedule conflicts have prevented our riding together for about three weeks now, so it was nice to be able to reconnect. Though I had hoped to do two round trips to Marsh Park, in the end I settled for just one, completing the 9.5 miles in 1 hours and 4 minutes.
9/11—an ominous date in American history now. I was working in my job at Firestone on that September morning 14 years ago, and as the events unfolded on the TV up in the customer waiting area, some of us gathered around, watching in disbelief.
